Dear colleagues,
Our office network will be shut down this Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. During those six hours the sales application and the shared drive will not be available, so please save your work on Friday evening.
When you log in again on Monday, the system will ask you to input your staff number and a six-digit code sent to your phone. Old passwords will no longer work.
If your computer crashes after the upgrade, please do not call the front desk. Report the problem on the help site instead, and a technician will come to your floor within one working day.
Thank you for your patience,
Alan Wu, IT Office

Ten years ago few primary schools taught children to write code. Today many of them do, and parents often ask whether the subject is worth the class time.
Teachers who support it say the aim is not to produce programmers. Writing a simple program forces a child to break a large problem into small steps and to test each step in a systematic way, a habit that helps in every subject.
Critics reply that technology changes so fast that today's language will be useless by the time these students leave school. Both sides agree on one point, though: a class of thirty children and one broken computer teaches nobody anything.
