The Metals in Your Drawer
Every phone in your drawer holds a few grams of 11, the reddish metal that carries electricity through its thin 12. Cans are made of something lighter: 13, which can be melted and reused forever without losing quality. Sorting these metals used to be slow work. The Towers Off Our Coast
The wind farm off our coast looks simple from the beach, but each tower is a 16 of steel as tall as a church. Sixty Years of Paint
The great red bridge across the bay has been painted for sixty years without a break. As soon as the workers reach one end, they go back and start again at the other.
The reason is rust. Salt air eats into bare steel, and a small brown spot can grow into a hole in a single wet winter. The paint they use is waterproof, and each layer must dry for two full days before the next one goes on.
Modern coatings last longer, so the team today is smaller than it was in 1970. Even so, the painters like to say that their work will never truly be finished.

First, are the copper tubes sold in three-meter lengths only? Our workshop door is just 2.4 meters wide.
