The change came from three things: the old power station shut, buses turned electric, and homes stopped burning coal. Air quality is now better than the national average, though summer ozone is still a problem. M: Please look at the printed recycling table while I explain. Notice that only two of the four materials are collected at the curb; the other two must be taken to a center. Metal earns the highest payment per kilo, which is why thieves sometimes take it from building sites. Glass earns nothing at all, but the city still collects it because burying glass wastes space in the dump forever.
